It hadn’t gone as expected.
I started out to write a book about reality; how it isn’t as real as it looks; how believing we’re all in the same reality is the cause of all conflict.
A DIY book for world peace I thought, just like my previous book had been a DIY book for health. It didn’t go to plan.
The problem was context.
Without context it lacked coherence and heart. With context it throbbed with life.
And exposure.
Mine.
The context was me, my life, my insights, my experience, things I’d never told a living soul, all writ bare.
Eventually it led to enlightenment, the happy privacy I’d kept to myself for seventeen years. Now it was out with all the rest, the psychic world, the suicide bid, the sexual abuse, the patients, the cranio sacral therapy, the God, the guru, the girlfriends, the mystery.
When it was done I’d come full circle back to reality and world peace again, swaggering and staggering along the spiritual path as I went.
I called the book Maya Noise. “Maya” is a hindu word for the idea that existence is an illusion. I added the subtitle of “Sounds from the Illusion,” in case it wasn’t obvious enough. I published the book through Amazon and within weeks it was one of the top ten books about Mayan culture.
Ironic because it has nothing to do with Mayan culture.
Is this book for you?
I don’t know. If you’re still reading, maybe. For myself I wish I’d read it back in the day when the first question rose, when there were fewer answers to clutter my head and misdirect my step. I could have saved time, and pain, and dignity.
Other people have read Maya Noise and been kind enough to write reviews. I am humbled by their appreciation and praise.
In publishing terms I’m an underdog.
Amazon gives me board and shelter, as it were, but in every other way I’m on my own; 
no big marketing budget, no PR company, 
just me and whatever time I devote to making a video here or writing an article there.
